FINALS DAY  - SUNDAY 11th SEPTEMBER 2016

The weather was kind for Finals Day in our 25th Anniversary Season with bright sunshine and blue skies for the early start of 10.00 am for the Men's Triple Final and it stayed dry for the whole day, ending in warm early autumnal sun. A welcome, hardy band of supporters grew throughout the day and enjoyed the bowls and each others' company. Thanks to Colin Howson for arranging and running the whole competition, thanks to Umpire Margaret Krawiecka, thanks to the ladies for the catering and thanks to Brian Ilbery and the Social Committee for organising and running the Season Long Raffle which was drawn at the end of the day. Thanks also to Bill Malcolm for preparing the green after some heavy rain in the previous days. The occasion was also notable for seeing the last use of the old portacabin which is to be replaced by a purpose-built pavilion. The Novices' Cup was won by new member Bernie Simpson two weeks before Finals Day. Congratulations to all the winners and runners-up for making it a wonderful day.
